Jewel Changi Airport

Jewel Changi Airport is a nature-themed entertainment and retail complex built around the central Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. Spanning 10 terraced storeys, it includes more than 300 retail and dining outlets, a hotel, a five-storey indoor garden and a Canopy Park. It has linkways to three of Changi’s passenger terminals and receives about 300,000 visitors a day.

The Jewel’s domed architecture required a high degree of customisation. Through our INNIbuild facility, we created the MI-761VJ, a vertical custom 75mm pitch designed performance louvre with aluminium perforated mesh. A total of 467 customised louvre panels covering over 2,000m² were delivered; a bespoke solution to complete the Jewel’s unique look.

All our units were third party tested by BSRIA UK to BS EN 13030:2001 standards to ascertain rain defence and airflow qualities. The panels were mounted at four different angles and marked the first time an inclined test sample had ever been tested to the European norm.
