ION Orchard

ION Orchard is the retail component of an upmarket integrated retail and residential development in Singapore’s famous Orchard Road shopping belt. In December 2016, it was named one of Singapore’s top shopping malls by Forbes.

To comply with the fire safety strategy and requirements of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), INNIVATE supplied a three-sided Coopers FireMaster Concertina fire curtain to provide vertical fire separation around an escalator area. The curtain needed to have a split drop, set at 2 minutes, to allow for a person with mixed mobility to safely evacuate the space. The installed curtain measured 12.3m in length and had a 2.7m drop, allowing for 180 minutes of fire resistance and 30 minutes of radiation control (E180 EW30). INNIVATE also installed a capping plate ceiling interface, integrated to be almost invisible until deployed.
